Description

In industrial environments it is often necessary to use a higher grade of quality and toughness to avoid communication issues and to withstand damage by harsh environments. This is where the USC-WUSB232B comes in. This is an industrial grade bi-directional USB to RS232 converter which also has an RS485 port, with DIN mount and optional screw mounts. It supports serial communication and has screw terminals for the RS232 / RS485 side for easy connection of single wires and a standard female USB type B connector on the USB side, and a male connector for the RS232 interface. LED indications lights for power, TX and RX makes it easy to see the converter is powered and when data is flowing. The converter allows for connecting multiple devices using a single USB port. The baud rate is crucial for ensuring efficient data transfer and compatibility with various devices.

This USB to RS232 converter is compatible with digital cameras and other modern peripherals, enhancing its versatility.

This USB to serial converter is designed around the reliable FT232RNL processor from FTDI, which makes it a high performance, fast and very reliable serial converter for most applications. The importance of driver software for installation and compatibility with various operating systems, including Windows Server, cannot be overstated. As one of the USB serial adapters, it bridges the gap between modern USB ports and legacy serial devices, making it an essential USB to serial solution.

The converter gets its power from the USB port so no external power is needed, making it port powered. The power provided from the USB port is isolated from the data signals for effective protection of the connected serial device and to prevent data loss. Built-in digital isolation, transient voltage suppressors (TVS), a self-recovering fuse and protection diodes, effectively suppresses voltage surges, transient voltage spikes, static electricity and over voltages/current. This ensures reliable connections with serial peripherals and maintains data integrity while transferring data at high speeds.

A built-in 120 ohms terminal resistor on the RS485 / RS422 ports is configurable by a jumper.
