This USB to serial RS232 converter has one RS232 port which is fully isolated from the USB port. It us built around the FT232RL processor chip which is one of the best serial conversion chips on the market.
Isolation is made using the ADM3251E chip from Analog Devices which offers
2.5 kV fully isolated (power and data) communication with a data rate of up to
460 kbps.
ESD protection on the TX and RX pins is up to
±8 kV contact discharge and
±15 kV air gap discharge.
This is a very effective solution for protecting your USB port and serial device against most types of power surges, static electricity, voltage spikes and transients. Ideal for industrial applications, and suited for operation in electrically harsh environments or where RS-232 cables are frequently being plugged and unplugged.
The enclosure is made of sturdy sheet metal tht won't easily break. Included with the converter are DIN mount brackets so you can easily mount this converter on a standard DIN rail. Included are also screw mount brackets so it can be mounted on a flat surface using screws.
The converter is powered through the USB port so no external power supply is needed.
LED indication lights indicates when data is sent and received.
