The USCEW10 is a small but powerful serial RS232 to Wi-Fi converter with all basic features packed in a small reliable package. It features an RDA5981 processor with integrated ARM Cortex-M4 core, 160MHz and Mbed operating system.
Use it for connecting a standard RS232 serial device to your computer over WiFi. It can be connected either by using a wireless router in an existing network or by connecting directly through an access point.
It supports
standard protocols IP,TCP server/client,UDP server/client,DHCP,DNS,HTTP Server/Client, Web socket, Telnetd, NTP, MQTT and even Modbus TCP.
Measuring only 61 x 26 x 17.8 mm this serial to Wi-Fi converter is ideal for integrating into existing systems, small enclosures with limited space or simply if you just like a small convenient converter. The converter has an internal PCB antenna. The housing is made of ABS plastic. It is not water or dust proof or so it is mainly suitable for warehouse, office, light commercial and industrial environments.
Included with the converter is a 8-pin screw terminal header which can be used for connecting RS232 wires, for powering the converter and for resetting the converter.
Optional accessories includes an interface cable for easy interfacing with the converter and a mounting bracket for securing the converter with screws. We highly recommend using the interface cable for easier interfacing with the converter. The cable consists of a DB9 connector, a DC power jack, screw terminals and a reset button. The cable connects to the converter through a standard RJ45 connector.
We recommend configuring the converter's parameters over Wi-Fi using a web-browser since this is the fastest and easiest way.
Power for the converter must be supplied through the included screw terminal header or the optional interface cable with a DC jack. The supply voltage is 5 - 18VDC. A standard 110VAC/5VDC power supply can be used as a power source.
A note regarding flow control, this converter supports software flow control (XON/XOFF) only, it does NOT support hardware flow control (CTS/RTS).
