Small and convenient USB-RS485 Converter which is port powered so there is no need for any external power supply. It has a surge and static protection of up to 600W.
This USB-RS485 converter is build around the high performance and very reliable CP2102 chip from Silicon Labs, which makes it a bit higher priced but also a very reliable converter which is is optimized and fully compatible with all versions of Windows, Linux and Mac.
This converter is suitable for most applications, including industrial, commercial and any general office computer device. It is a bi-directional, (meaning it communicates in both directions), reliable and cost-effective converter that easily lets you connect any RS485 device directly to your computer's USB port, efficiently converting USB signals to half-duplex RS485 and vice versa.
This high performance USB-RS485 converter is powered from the USB port so no external power supply is needed.
The RS485 end is a standard 4-screw terminal header for easy connection of single wires.
Automatic send data control is enabled by default so no external flow or handshake control is required.
It can be used in point to point or point to multipoint networks with up to 32 nodes. The estimated communication distance is up to 9800 FT (3km) at 4800bps, 6500 FT (2km) at 9600bps or 3200 FT (1km) at 115.2Kbps.

Quick Tip!
A USB-RS485 Converter with only one purpose.
This USB-RS485 Converter is designed around the high quality CP2102 processor ship from Silicon Labs. The advantage of this processor is that it is made in particular for converters like this USB-RS485 converter. This means that when you use this converter you no only have a high quality converter you also have a product which is actually designed for converting only USB to serial RS485 data.
Some processors are designed with not only RS485 conversion in mind but also RS422 and RS232 and can be used for several different applications, however most of them with less precision and reliability due to the multi-level design. With this USB-RS485 converter you get exactly what you need and nothing else, which is what makes this USB-RS485 converter highly reliable and gives you the results you need with an extremely low error rate.
