Description

Many newer motherboards now have PCIe slots instead of the older standard PCI slots, so if you need to add serial RS232 COM ports to your desktop computer then this PCIe serial card is the best way to do it.
Using a PCIe serial card is often more reliable way of creating a serial port and provides better performance than using a USB to serial adapter. The reason is that the PCIe card is connected directly to the PCIe slot on the motherboard which gives the drivers a more direct way of communicating with the port, whereas when using a USB to serial adapter the drivers works on a higher level requiring more resources which results in higher latencies, data delays and electrical noise which eventually can result in a higher error rate.

This PCIe card adds one high-speed 9-pin serial RS232 COM port to any PCIe-equipped PC. It uses an all-in-one high quality chipset solution (MCS9922) from MosChip Technology which provides superior performance and unmatched serial PCIe data transfer rates.

The created serial port share same IRQ which saves valuable resources if other expansion cards are used.
The drivers will automatically configure the next available serial PCIe COM port and IRQ address within Windows. The COM port number can be renamed with the included COM port Redirect Utility.

This card will work with most serial RS232 devices including modems, serial printers, handheld PDAs, mice and trackballs, keypads, serial POS devices, digital cameras and more.
