What we have here is a cost-effective desktop style basic serial RS232 to Ethernet converter. With this converter you can connect a serial RS232 to your computer over a standard Ethernet/LAN network.
Embedding a 8051 CPU and 32Kb SRAM with a 10/100Mbps Ethernet port and serial COM support with handshake control this serial to Ethernet converter is the choice for communicating with both legacy and modern serial devices.
The included Virtual COM software creates a COM port in your PC which will show up in Windows Device Manager as a virtual serial COM port and can be used almost as if it was a standard built-in COM port, which means that your software can communicate with the serial device through the virtual COM port.
This Serial RS232 to Ethernet converter can be managed through a web-browser. This means that all settings can be viewed and changed by using a simple web-browser, no fancy software is needed.
All standard COM port and network settings such as baud rate, data bits, parity, IP address and many more can be viewed and configured.
Alternatively the settings can be configured by a free downloadable configuration utility.
The converter is ideal for commercial, light-industrial and personal applications and devices such as printers, scales, PLC's, scanners, CNC machines and other industrial and commercial devices which communicates through a serial RS232 port.
