Professional grade 2-port USB to RS422 / RS485 converter which is suitable for most applications, including industrial, commercial and any general office computer device.
It is a reliable and cost-effective converter that lets you connect any RS422 or RS485 device directly to your computers USB port.

The COM ports in this converter can be set as either 2 x RS485, 2 x RS422 or 1 x RS485 and 1 x RS422.

This converter is build around the high performance and solid processor chip FT232BL from FTDI Semiconductors which makes it fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 but it will also work perfectly with older versions of Windows, Linux and Mac.

The advantage of combo RS485 and RS422 converters

Its obvious that the advantage of using a combined USB to RS485 / RS422 converter is that you can connect either a RS485 or a RS422 device to the converter, but did you know that you can also connect both a RS485 and a RS422 device to the converter at the same time? You can, and unless your serial RS485 / RS422 device is very sensitive to data latencies and noise it will in most cases work perfectly fine.

How do I install the drivers for a combo RS485 / RS422 converter?

Installing the drivers for a combination RS485 / RS422 converter is done exactly the same way as with a standard single port RS422 converter, except that with the combo RS422 converter you need to go through the installation process two times, however its all done automatically after you start the driver installer.
