The GW-7472 from ICP-DAS is a combined Ethernet to Modbus RTU Master and Modbus TCP Client Gateway. It will allow you to communicate between a Modbus RTU network and/or Modbus TCP network, and a Ethernet / IP network. It reads the data from the Modbus RTU slaves as well as Modbus TCP servers and transmits the data to the Ethernet/IP device. The data transmitted by the Ethernet/IP device is sent to the Modbus RTU slaves/Modbus TCP servers via the GW-7472.
In order to save the installation space, the GW-7472 has a small form factor which makes it easy to install in electrical enclosures, DIN rails or even directly attached to a serial device or embedded into a machine.
The GW-7472 features a powerful 32-bit MCU to handle network traffic efficiently. It features IEEE 802.3af-compliant (Class 1) Power over Ethernet (PoE) with a standard category 5 Ethernet cable. If no PoE is available the converter can be powered by an external DC power adapter. These two power interfaces are redundant. If one fails, the other will take over to make sure the converter is powered.
As you can see from the features and specifications below, the GW-7472 is an industrial grade Ethernet to Modbus converter with many advanced features and functions. It is very reliable and solid in design and the perfect choice for factory automation and industrial environments where reliability and performance is critical.
