USCDR404 is a combined bidirectional serial RS485 to WiFi / Ethernet converter. It can convert one RS485 signal to either WiFi or Ethernet, working in both directions. With standard DIN rail mount it is suitable for installation in industrial environments and with a wide voltage range of 5 to 36VDC it will work with most typical industrial power supplies and applications.
This RS485 to WiFi / Ethernet converter is a cutting-edge device designed to bridge the gap between serial port devices and modern WiFi networks. This versatile converter allows for seamless data communication, making it an ideal solution for remote monitoring and control of various industrial applications. The processor in this serial to Wi-Fi / Ethernet converter supports 802.11b/g/n technologies for longer range and better throughput. Whether you're working with CNC machines, laboratory equipment, or factory automation systems, this converter ensures reliable and efficient connectivity. Supporting multiple networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP, and offering flexible configuration options in both STA and AP modes, this WiFi converter is a robust tool for any industrial setup.
Besides supporting all standard basic functions such as baud rates between 300 and 460800bps, AP and STA network modes, RS485, DHCP support, AES security it also supports more advanced functions. Here are some of the advanced functions (please refer to the datasheet for all details):
Two ports - WiFi and Ethernet
This converter can be accessed and communicate either over Wi-Fi or over the built-in Ethernet port. The wired Ethernet port can for example be used as a backup connection if the Wi-Fi link for some reason goes down.
Modbus compatible
Industrial applications often use the Modbus protocol to communicate with serial devices. This converter can convert between Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP devices.
Multiple Clients Support.
Each serial port supports up to 24 simultaneous clients in TCP mode, meaning that 24 computers can connect to the converter at the same time. This is a nice feature to have if you have a large network with many clients.
Configuration over serial, WiFi or Ethernet
The converter's parameters can be configured through the serial RS232 port using AT commands. Useful if configuration through Wi-Fi or Ethernet is not an option. Alternatively over WiFi or Ethernet using a web browser.
