USB Serial Adapter - Economy

I use it for updating bin files on my Viasat FTA reciever. What I notice is that it actually takes longer to update the file on my receiver using the dongle on my laptop rather then just using the serial port on my desktop, but overall a good adapter.
Convienent if you do not have serial on you laptop like most. But the speed seems to dip via usb dongle.
