This USB to RS485 adapter is similar to our Mini USB to RS485 adapter with the exception that this adapter is made with an economical low-cost processor chip and has a 2 feet cord with a 9-pin Dsub connecter attached. This is a port-powered small and convenient USB to RS485 adapter with no need for external power supply, power is supplied from the USB port. It is build around the PL-2303HX processor chip from Profilic which is a good allround processor for general use and suitable for most applications, including industrial, commercial and any general office computer device. It is a bi-directional, (meaning it communicates in both directions), reliable and cost-effective adapter which easily lets you connect any RS485 device directly to your computer's USB port, efficiently converting USB signals to half-duplex RS485 signals and vice versa.
The RS485 end is a standard 9-pin D-sub connector with a optional screw terminal board included for easy connection of cables or single wires.
Automatic send data control is enabled by default so no external flow or handshake control is needed.
Drivers for this USB to RS485 adapter are fully compatible with Windows 98Se, ME, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Mac and Linux but has only limited compatibility with Windows 7 and Vista, (see our Premium USB to RS422 / RS485 adapter which is optimized and fully compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7).
Terminal board is included with each converter.
